Hillside Coffee House: A Story of Passion, Resilience, and Community in Milwaukee

In March 2020, amidst the dawn of a global pandemic, Rose courageously opened the doors of Hillside Coffee House. This wasn't just a business venture; it was the culmination of a lifelong dream, pieced together with passion and unwavering determination.

Rose's journey began with a simple desire: to create a place where exceptional, from-scratch baked goods met perfectly brewed coffee. She'd often struggled to find a local coffee shop that excelled at both, and she knew these two comforts belonged together. Before Hillside, Rose even channeled her love for baking into a cause, donating proceeds from her cakes to the Milwaukee Rescue Mission.

The opportunity for Hillside arose in January 2019, when her brother alerted her that the historic old Hillside School House building was for sale. Rose stepped inside just once, but that was all it took. She immediately envisioned the building's potential, believing it was part of a divine plan. It was meant to be.

Even with the world grinding to a halt due to COVID-19 just as she opened, Rose and her dedicated staff at Hillside not only survived but thrived. Their success is nothing short of miraculous, a testament to their spirit and the welcoming atmosphere they've cultivated.

Today, Hillside Coffee House remains a beloved fixture in the community. Rose has done an incredible job of preserving the building's rich history while meticulously attending to every detail. It's more than just a coffee shop; it's a warm, homey hub where families are always welcome and where events, from book readings to community gatherings, regularly fill the space with life and laughter.

Capturing the Heart of Hillside: Our Branding Photography Experience

As photographers, it was an absolute pleasure to step into the vibrant world of Hillside Coffee House and create branding images that truly reflect its essence. We loved watching Rose and her team in action—the genuine smiles, the careful preparation of each coffee, the artistry in every pastry. Capturing these authentic moments, witnessing the dedication, and feeling the warmth of the space made it a truly rewarding experience. These images aren't just pretty pictures; they're a visual story of the passion, community, and deliciousness that define Hillside.

ENJOY!

Striving and thriving with Hillside: From March 2020 to Today

It was March 2020 when Rose opened the doors of the coffeeshop for business. Leading up to this she only had bits and pieces of a dream put together. Every place she had looked at didn't work out. Her love for baking, coffee and people is where it starts. She struggled finding a coffeeshop to visit that made from scratch bakery. As well as struggling to find good coffee at a bakery. The two go so well together it became part of her vision. She spent some of her time baking cakes for others and donating the money to the Milwaukee Rescue Mission. The old Hillside School House building was going up for sale in January 2019 and little did she know that she'd only set foot inside once before it would be hers. Her brother let her know it was going up for sale and everything after that point just fell into place. She saw a vision of what the building could be and believed that God had a purpose and a plan. It was meant to be, even opening right before the world had come to a screeching halt with COVID-19 closing so many small businesses, Rose and her staff at Hillside are one of the few that strived and thrived . It's still open today. She has done a miraculous job of keeping the building's history alive and being so attentive to every little detail. There is always something going on, whether it's a book reading or some other type of event. Hillside is a warm, homey place. Families are definitely welcomed.
